Please Note: Prior to registering, please ensure you have looked at our concurrent speaker options and have your selections ready as you will need this to complete your booking.

  • If you register for a group, you will be the group contact. You will be required to make one joint payment by credit card to complete your registration. If this presents any difficulties, please contact the conference team to discuss a group invoice on conference@dementia.com.au.

IDC pre-conference cottage tour PM

Wednesday, 3 June 2026 11:30 - 15:30

Registration begins at 11:30am at the Hilton for 12:00pm departure. Tour will commence at 1:00pm at HammondCare Wahroonga and conclude at 2:30pm. returning to the Hilton by 3:30pm.

Experience Hammondcare’s small household model of care. Hosted by Hammond Innovations, this tour will take you to an operational cottage at our Wahroonga site. The tour will include:

  • A presentation covering why design matters, what makes a homelike model work and principles of dementia design.
  • A tour of the grounds, communal amenities and the cottage.
  • Q & A session.
  • Transport to and from the Hilton Sydney plus afternoon tea is provided.

Please note if you opt to attend the dementia cottage tour at 11:30am, you will not be back at the Hilton, Sydney in time for the exclusive masterclass, due to time required to travel to HammondCare Wahroonga.

Registration opens from 1pm for 1.30pm start, afternoon tea will be provided.

Join us on Wednesday 3 June for an exclusive masterclass with Dr Kathryn Mannix and Dr Allen Power, where these highly regarded dementia and palliative care advocates will expand on their thinking for a limited number of lucky delegates.

Please note if you book the exclusive masterclass, you will not be able to join the dementia cottage tour at 11:30am, due to time required to travel to HammondCare Wahroonga.

Networking / documentary screening

A highlight of #IDC2026 will be an evening networking event for all delegates, which includes an exclusive screening of the award-winning Dutch documentary Human Forever. Dementia activist Teun Toebes and filmmaker Jonathan de Jong will be on hand to answer questions after the screening. Their book, The Housemates, told of Teun’s three years living in what the Dutch call a ‘closed dementia ward’. Human Forever followed, exploring global attitudes to people living with dementia and their care. Teun will also speak at a plenary session and contribute to the panel discussion on diversity.
